Find Cass County Booking Photos

Cass County jail mugshots are part of the booking-record question, but the official county sources inspected do not publish a public mugshot gallery or live roster photo page. To find Cass County booking photos, start with the jail and public-records request process rather than a commercial photo site. Court records, state prison records, federal locators, and ICE detainee tools answer different questions. A booking photo may be public in some contexts, restricted in others, or unavailable online even when a custody record exists.

Cass County Jail Mugshots Status

The official Cass County Jail page does not publish a mugshot gallery, recent-bookings feed, or searchable public roster with booking photos. The sheriff page also did not publish a booking photo page or sheriff app in the official sources inspected. That does not mean no booking photo exists. It means the public path is a jail contact or records request path, not a roster-click path.

Indiana law gives sheriffs duties that include taking photographs, fingerprints, and other identification data for people taken into custody for felonies or misdemeanors. Public access still depends on the Indiana Access to Public Records Act and its exceptions. Investigatory records, juvenile records, safety-sensitive records, medical records, body-camera footage, and jail surveillance may be withheld or require legal process.

The Cass County Sheriff's Office page names Sheriff Ed Schroder and jail administration contacts, but it does not provide a public mugshot feed. Formal photo and booking-record requests should use the Cass County public-information request page, while filed charges should be checked through Cass County court resources and MyCase.

Request Cass County Booking Photos

Because Cass County does not publish a located online mugshot roster, a booking photo request should be specific. Use the person's full legal name, date of birth if known, booking or arrest date, arresting agency, and a clear description such as "booking photograph from the Cass County Jail booking record." Current-custody questions should still start with the jail phone line.

  1. Check the official jail page for current procedure notes, but do not expect a public mugshot gallery.
  2. Call Cass County Jail at (574) 753-7800 to ask whether the photo can be released or whether a request is required.
  3. Submit a public-information request through the Cass County public-information request page.
  4. Use MyCase for filed court charges after the case opens, not as a booking-photo source.
  5. Avoid treating commercial mugshot pages as official Cass County records.

Cass County Mugshot Record Fields

A booking photo is usually tied to a broader booking record. In a county that participates in INjail, the public profile component can include identity, physical description, booking, arresting agency, holds, cases, and a mugshot endpoint. Cass County was not participating when inspected, so these fields show the statewide model, not a Cass County online record guarantee.

Are Cass County Jail Mugshots Public?

Indiana starts from a public-records access framework, but a booking photo is not the same as every image held by law enforcement. A booking photo may be requested as part of a jail or booking record. Jail surveillance video, body-camera footage, investigatory images, juvenile material, and sealed or safety-sensitive items can face stricter limits. Cass County provides a public-information request route and a separate law-enforcement-recording request form.

Key Statutes:

Indiana Code 36-2-13-5 includes sheriff duties to take photographs, fingerprints, and identification data for people in custody.

Indiana Code 5-14-3 gives the public a records request framework unless an exception applies.

Indiana Code 5-14-3-4 covers nondisclosable and discretionary records, including some law-enforcement categories.

INjail Mugshots and Cass County

The statewide INjail app has a mugshot service endpoint, and participating county profiles can include booking details. Cass County was not present in the INjail participating-county API response inspected in the research. For Cass County jail mugshots, that absence is the central point: INjail may show photos for other counties, but it should not be treated as the Cass County photo roster.

The INjail public search screen shows the statewide county-jail search interface that did not list Cass when inspected.

The screenshot supports a narrow point: statewide portal design exists, but Cass County booking photos were not located there in the research pass.

Cass County Mugshot Access Limits

Several image types can be confused with jail mugshots. A booking photo is taken during jail intake. A court document may include no image at all. Jail surveillance video and correction-officer body-camera video are different records and can be protected from general disclosure. Youth custody records are more restricted, especially for Logansport Juvenile Correctional Facility.

What is and isn't public: A jail booking photo may be requested through official records channels, but Cass County does not publish a public mugshot gallery. Court records, body-camera footage, jail video, and juvenile records follow separate access rules.

Mugshots vs Court Records

MyCase is the right source for court records after a jail arrest, including charges, bonds, events, warrants, and public documents when available. It is not a booking photo gallery. A person can have a court case in MyCase even when no public Cass County mugshot is online, and a booking event can exist before the court case appears.

For filed charges and case status, search Cass County court records after jail arrest. For current custody and booking-record routing, start with Cass County Jail and the public-information request process. Keep the photo request separate from the charge lookup so the correct office receives the correct question.

Mugshot Removal and Expungement

When a case is dismissed, sealed, or expunged, the court record and booking-record visibility may change under Indiana law and court order. Indiana Code 35-38-9 provides the expungement and sealing process for eligible arrest, charge, juvenile, and conviction records. A requester seeking removal or restriction should focus on the official court and records process, not paid removal offers from private sites.

Federal and ICE Mugshot Limits

Federal and immigration searches should not be treated as Cass County mugshot searches. The BOP inmate locator can locate federal inmates from 1982 forward, but it does not serve as a public mugshot gallery. ICE ODLS is for immigration detention lookup by A-number or biographical fields and is not a booking-photo source.

State custody is separate too. The IDOC locator can show sentenced state-custody profile information, but the Logansport Juvenile facility involves youth custody and should not be described as an adult county jail mugshot source. Start with the system that actually holds the person.
